Congrats to all the O-Town athletes who competed in Sweat RX this weekend. Our Mod team placed 6th and completed the last WOD with an impressive performance, unfortunately the score did not count as top 5 was chosen after WOD 3. They definitely gave it their all and made O-Town proud!!
Our RX team killed it with a tie for 3rd place. Marc who competed in Masters tied for 2nd. Both Marc and the RX team are on their way to the finals in Toronto in August!!
Congrats all, you made us proud!!
Way to go Marc! |

So much fun! - thank you to everyone who made the trip to Montreal and a big congrats to all those who braved their first competition!
I would do it all again (*especially* WOD 4) in a heartbeat, just to get that team-bonding feeling again. I don't know when (definitely not if) I'll be able to replace the high that I felt going into #4, maybe you guys & girls on the Mod Team (or Rx) have an idea what I'm talking about...but I think I've caught a bit of the competition bug and I plan on catching it again sooner than later.
For however long I/we felt that we had a chance to leapfrog another team or two to get into the top 5, bringing that exuberance into #4, depending on each other to go hard until we were on the verge of puking our guts out, and celebrating with the team and our support the fact that we finished minutes ahead of everyone else in our heat, right up until we got the bad news...I'm seriously getting a bit sentimental just re-visiting those moments. Those 20-some-odd minutes had to have been some of the best-ever 20-some-odd minutes that I can remember in years...absolute truth. If we were told before the WOD that our upcoming effort wouldn't have counted, I don't think I would have cared as much or tried as hard as I did (maybe even given up on the spot), and if everyone else felt the same, maybe we would have finished dead last overall, who knows?
I'm so proud of my teammates (Mod, Rx and Masters), and very thankful for Melisa & Everett for giving me all the advice they could give. And big thanks to everyone else who came to give their support...it's a great feeling to have people cheering you on.
To everyone else that can - get competing! We need to start outnumbering & outworking the Quebec teams!
